Odette Santos and her daughter settled in Nice (Alpes Maritimes)
in 1937 and set up their flower stall in the Ruelle Pairolière,
just next to the Café de Turin.
Since then, Emilienne - now Madame Scriva - has continued the handsome
profession of florist on the same premises. Today, she is helped by
her children, Christiane, France, Joseph and Thérèse.
In the space of three generations, the Scrivas have become specalised
in floral art and they have witnessed many events in the life of the
Niçois people.
Where does the name "Au Bon Génie" ("The
Kind Genie") come from?
Madame Scriva explains: "Flowers bring happiness they have
brought happiness to the Scriva family over all these generations, in
joy and in sadness."
They are synonymous with love and affection.
